Bridgeport Worldwide has an immediate full-time, on-site opening for a talented, personable, motivated, and experienced Inside Sales Specialist. Join the Sales team and help us provide architectural hardware solutions to our primary sales channels across North America.

Bridgeport Worldwide is a small (~25 person) but growing company in the high-end North American design and construction sector. We import, market, help specify, and sell high-performance architectural hardware from all over the world.
Our business works with designers, dealers, door and window manufacturers, and builders to help them create beautiful environments for their clients. Our success is contingent on our ability to educate anyone in the design/build universe, including our direct customers, on how to properly specify and integrate our product offerings into their product lines and projects.
About You
You are a customer service superstar! You have a positive and proactive attitude and strive to solve problems, and you genuinely care for the businesses and people you work with.
You are goal-oriented, tech-savvy, very organized, and super personable, with a well-developed phone presence and excellent written communication skills.
The world of architectural hardware is foreign to most, and it is an intricate one. A will to learn, an engineering mind with strong mechanical reasoning skills, and an affinity to product design are also essential to your success in this role.
What you do
This position entails heavy phone and e-mail interaction with customers, as well as a significant amount of order entry and order processing work, where thoroughness and accuracy are paramount.
Assist the accounts management for our primary sales channels: Commercial Dealers, Door & Window Manufacturers, Residential Door & Window Dealers, Professional Building Material Suppliers, Hardware Manufacturers, Architectural Millwork, Glazing Contractors, Wholesale Door and Millwork, Locksmiths, Yacht Builders.
Responsibilities include:
- Answering technical questions, pricing requests, large project quotes, specification support, billing questions
- Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction
- Process Returns and Replacements for lost, damaged or warrantied products
- Large project follow-up, account setup, credit applications
- Order status and updates on open orders, delays
- Conduct online presentations of our products with customers
- Maintain records of all sales leads and/or customer accounts assigned to you
- Educate customers on how our products or services can benefit them financially and professionally
Our ideal candidate
- Has a minimum of 2 to 3 years experience with customer service, preferably in the architectural hardware or construction sector.
- Is mechanically proficient, understands and can retain intricate product information and is interested in how products work
- Is highly organized, conscientious and attentive to detail.
- Has excellent verbal and written skills.
- Is good with computers and learning new systems.
- Has experience with CRMs and order processing.
- Is very comfortable working with numbers and has working knowledge of G-Suite, or Excel spreadsheets.
- Has a personable, high spirit and curious personality.
- Has a strong sense of products and B2B customers' needs.
- Maintains a positive, empathetic and professional attitude toward customers at all times.
- Values customer relationships, and can maintain relationships through difficult situations.
- Is able to work in a sometimes high-pressure situation.
- Takes pride in their work.
- Works well with a team and can take direction.
- Is punctual and dedicated to the job.
- Has a strong interest in design as well as a willingness to learn about both our products and our customers.
